Types of psychology: cognitive, developmental, educational, comparative, social, biological, *** it is a combination of both natural and social sciences. Law: standard (standard of being a reasonable question) Philosophy: what does it mean to be reasonable. Physc: how can we decide if an individual is reasonable *empirical question. Sociology: how can we decide if a group are reasonable people *empirical question. However, the responses where always different: empiricism: knowledge through sensory observation, only going with what we see is true ex. Educated guess, specific testable situations, concern observable processes. Describe a body of data, integrate data into a whole. Good theories explain many observations, generates new predictions, theories must be falsifiable and parsimonious theories win (the simple theory wins) Behavior is any action that can be obsrerved, recorded or measured.
