If the experiment is in an arti cial environment, the situations won"t represent real-life situations. Hawthorne e ect - people will behave di erently when they know they"re being watched. If children are being investigated under laboratory conditions, their behaviour may be very di erent than in everyday situations because the environment is intimidating.
