Really what they are doing is create a story of the crime that is coherent and here is how they do it: trial evidence, knowledge and understanding of similar crimes. Usually from media: knowledge on story structures. I. e from the prosecution and run it in a way that their evidence support: defense attorney does the same thing, jurors can come up with a story they think is right. Then evaluate these stories: look for a story that is complete explains all evidence. Timeline has to make sense: has to be plausible, also would like to be a good story. Lets assume that we have a story that meets these 3 criteria: then weight it against all the verdicts criterion, learn verdict categories. Circumstances: verdict a, verdict b, verdict c.
