Often, artists and songs are also picked because they influenced a lot of future iconic artists. Various genres are covered to show how trends in popular music change, and in turn are changed by, the historical movements of technologic, economics, and development. Music reflects time, events, and opinions and thoughts. Song writer who rose to prominence in the 90s. 12 grammy nominations, 8 academy award nominations, songs in over 60 films, over 100 songs on billboard top 100 songs. The people we see on stage are hardly all there is to music; there"s a small part. There is no definition of popular music it all comes down to perspective. It depends on taste, economic status, where you live, how old you are. There"s no good or bad music only music that makes sense to you.
