Blue collar kids would not normally grow up to become professionals like doctors, with education this change. The middle class is between: large parts were in middle, they were very comfortable being in that class, society saw itself as a middle class society. Tv shows were all based on middle class living. Why did this happen: north american had big economic event more than half of world economy due to ww. Ii: war production, investment, and expenditure of money. Canada and us has resources that the rest of the world needs to rebuild. North america has more control over the developing world. Germany and japan were almost wiped out but will become an issue later. Standard of living the lives people live: full employment. Keeping the unemployment rate as low as possible, business incentives, spending, etc. making sure everyone has a job: redistribution.
