Focusing on critiques of ideas from this period. Liberalism, progressive views on gender, progressive genders= good. Also bad things= cruelty, sexism, brutality, racial and sexual violence. Authors and their views on the ideas of the period= exam. Not too much historical background- 20% of course content. Know how texts respond to the key ideas. Assignments before the research paper are in preparation for the research paper. Exam: opportunity to say stuff you know and remember, not super detailed oriented, talk about your passions of the course. Students who meet with prof. mckendry discuss their work at least once throughout the semester will receive a 3% bonus on the final research paper. Scientific research and technique improves and the universe expands. The world above them, them and then below them. Micrographia-> an article in the paper, it was a massive fold out of a picture of a flea. Being cruel to animals is useless-> beating them up does no use.
