Document Summary

Introduction: this osteobiograpy aims to analyze these human skeletal remains using standard osteobiological techniques in order to assess sex, age, level of preservation and unusual features from a set of skeletal remains uncovered from parco s. stefano tomha. Level of preservation and inventory: preservation of a skeleton depends on several different factors such as burial environment (e. g. ph level of the soil), treatment following excavation and post-depositional disturbance. All of these factors can have a significant impact on the human bone condition. Much of the remains from the excavation at the parco: stefano were fragmentary and comingled. Although, approximately seventy-five percent of the skeleton was present, taphonomic processes and postmortem fractures had left the skeleton, especially the cranium quite fragmentary. There were approximately fifty-two fragments that could not be identified and thus were inaccessible for analysis. There were no teeth present for this individual.
