Document Summary

Continuous evaporation: need continuous energy to supply latent hear, mechanism that removes added water so vpd is constant like the wind, dalton, evaporation formula with wind as a coefficient, meyer added special average wind speed metric. Sublimation: transition from ice to gas without passing through an intermediate liquid phase, snow evaporates. Important for evaporation process: becomes important because of latent heat and water balance. Heat capacity: proportion of water has a high heat capacity, temperature takes allot of energy to heat up/ cool down. Allot of net radiation comes in due to heat transfers and condensation occurring. Heat capacity needs more energy to go to melting it rather then evaporating. Once snow has melted you get interception on canopy that doesn"t reach the ground. Wind creates more room to receive more water. Too much wind can cause stomata to close. All pores filled with water = field capacity.
