": are men + women in the victorian era truly fully separated into these different spheres of life, with the public sphere for men, as it is the life of work + politics. Whereas, the private sphere is for women, as it is the life of housework and looking after the children + husband, the traditional role for women. We assume that the victorian era was like this, have an idealised image of it, but not everyone conformed to it, look at ways people didn"t conform. How class + race affected this + look at idealised form of women + men- femininity + masculinity, does this paint a true picture of women"s history in victorian britain. Look at how women interacted with politics, society, economy + law outside of this separate spheres idea. Look at how story of jack the ripper affected views on women + their sexuality, as well as other victorian literature.
