Rule of law- applied to everyone in uniform. ex:quebec officer in car crash killed a boy when speeding. This brought the reliability of the justice system into dispute. When out of state looked at the case, they said officer should have been charged from the start. Classical theory- overtime saw individuals harm one another. This theory says criminal law originated from torts and wrongs on individuals. They decided to assesses individuals who were hurt in this. (tied to previous point) society took on itself to stop this. Lae originated in rational processes of unified society.
