Lecture 1: what is psychology of women: the psychology of women is an area of feminist study and practice that emerged at the time of the 2nd wave of feminism. The 3rd wave of feminism took place between 1990 and 2008 and was concerned with diversity and intersectionality. Lecture 2: theories of women"s oppression: the different types of feminism all similarly provide an explanation of women"s subordination to men. It opposes abortion, same sex marriage, medically assisted death, and are in favour of conservative sex education programs. For this reason, conservative feminism is seen as an oxymoron because feminists want change for gender equality while conservative want to maintain status quo and avoid change: real women of canada is a conservative feminist group. Their goal is to create gender equality in the public sphere (e. g. equal access to education, equal pay) through political and legal reforms.
