A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush : delayed rewarded value: it targets the self & others, social distance: self is higher than others. This was proven as there were several similarities of human emotion and animal behaviours: blind individuals who lack the ability to see, still are able express emotions in the way the communicate. This allows people to make connections with others and notice similarities among each other. Duration neglect: giving a relative unimportance to the length of an emotional experience, this could be either pleasurable or not, in contrast to remembering the overall event. Measuring attitudes: self-report and rating scales: participants are presented with a series of items thought to be related to a construct. They either respond in a free-form manner or rate items on a scale: behavioural measures: participants provide a response and are assigned a score (in terms of correct or incorrect) or a percentage.
