Bambuk and bure were two important cities that were located in what is now modern day ghana and coite d"ivore. Both cities played an integral role in the trans-subsahran. These two cities are historically significant not only because of their role in the gold trade but because trans-subsaharan trade in general served as a connection between the arab, mediterranean, and asian worlds. Trading was the backbone of the the kingdom"s economy and gold was a highly important commodity. Prosperity in the kingdom relied heavily upon berber"s caravan economy.
