To introduce you to (and fascinate you with!) the study of the mind. The course may raise more questions than it answers, but by the end you will (hopefully!) want to learn more. The relationship between mind and brain/body: how cognitive science can help you study/learn better, how perception works, puzzles of consciousness, action and free will, how we acquire and develop language. I have tried to select accessible and exciting (!) readings from a range of sources (academic journals, books, reputable magazines and news outlets: please do them! They will help you make sense of the lectures, and also give you a starting foundation in cog sci.
