The assessment system i think would work best for measuring sexual interest involves the integration of plethysmography (either volumetric or circumferential), galvanic skin response and a questionnaire (msi). Plethysmography tools measure the penile response to a certain stimulus. This tool operates under the assumption that genital response indicates sexual arousal which in turn indicates sexual desire. The differential plethysmographic tools are volumetric measure, which measures how much air is displaced in the cylinder, and the circumferential measure, which measures the relative change in penis circumference. Overall, both of these measures are high in discriminative efficacy and have a lot of published research about it. However, the plethysmography measure is lower in its test-retest reliability, resilience to faking, ease of use and generally costs more to administer. In order to address the plethysmography"s low resistance to faking, it could be used in conjunction with a measure of galvanic skin response (gsr).
