Statin drugs (hypocholesterolaemic) e. g lovastatin, simvastatin, atorvastatin reduced blood cholesterol by blocking a key enzyme in cholesterol synthesis in the liver. Reduce blood cholesterol by blocking a key enzyme (hmg coa) in cholesterol synthesis in the liver.
