For most Americans, life in America at the end of the 19th century would have been very different from that in the early 19th. By the turn of the 20th century, political, economic, and sanitation movements had all emerged. Which event—a social movement, an invention, a shift, etc.—do you believe had the biggest impact on the lives of common people in the late 19th century? Why? Recall that it may be an innovation, a social shift, a political or economic movement, or anything else you felt was significant. Remember that not all changes were positive, therefore you can also include the negative ones.

A compelling opening, a thesis statement, and supporting data supporting your claim regarding the significance of this advancement should all be included.
