Task 5: Visualization Exercise: Normal Curve + Standard Scores + Raw Scores + Interpretation
This is an exercise to help solidify your understanding by visualizing how positions within a data set relate to the normal curve, standard scores, and interpretative ranges.
Complete the table.
For the Z distribution: The mean is 0 and the standard deviation is 1 .
For the T distribution: The mean is 50 and the standard deviation is 10
For the IQ distribution: The mean is 100 and the standard deviation is 15 .
For HR and RR: Use the whole number rounded mean and standard deviation from Task 3.

Scale -3 SD      -2 SD    -1 SD     Mean +1 SD    +2 SD     +3 SD
Z                                                       0
T                                                       50
IQ                                                     100
HR
RR

  <-2 SD <-1 SD -1 to +1 > +1 SD >+2 SD
Category Range Extremely Low Below Average Average Above Average Extremely High
  2.5% 13.5% 68% 13.5% 2.5%

Category ranges correspond to the different shades of green in the diagram.
