how did you calculate the inertia ,i didn't understand atall?what is the moment of inertia of a thin rod about it's length???
So I consulted the solutions guide on problem 16, chpt. 20 and it didn't really answer my question. I'm trying to find the work done by/on the gas by the use of a P-V diagram only. a-b is a constant pressure case, so no problem there. b-c is constant volume. Alright, I can handle that too. But c-a? What about that? The solution neglected to mention its existence. It didn't make clear why the answer ignored this phase of the cycle. Why is it this way? Please explain.
