For total internal refraction:
a. the index of refraction of the material on the incident side ofthe boundary must be the same as the index of refraction of thematerial on the other side.
b. the index of refraction of the material on the incident side ofthe boundary must be lower than the index of refraction of thematerial on the other side.
c. the index of refraction of the material on the incident side ofthe boundary must be greater than the index of refraction of thematerial on the other side.
d. whether or not total internal reflection occurs is not dependentupon the relation of the indices of refraction
