Did you use the equation for linear expansion for the ball and alsofor the ring so that the ball ends up with a radius equaling theinner radius of the ring? You then know the final temperature andthus also the temperature for each object. How much energy isgained by the ring? How much is lost by the ball? Can you then usethe expression relating energy loss to mass, specific heat, andtemperature change?
