Been practising some past exam papers and trying to get my headround some concepts so I can answer the questions that proceed it.Here is the question...

A light, hollow cone is filled with sand and set spinning about avertical axis
through its apex on a frictionless bearing. Sand is allowed todrain slowly through a
hole in the apex. Discuss the application of the laws ofconservation of energy and
angular momentum to this system.

If people could shed some light on what is going on here that'd begreat.
