Suppose a cart of mass m = 478 g is initial moving at speed v0 =4.76 m/s. It strikes a spring attached to a fixed wall, comes to astop, and bounces back at speed vf = 2.95 m/s. Assume the track isfrictionless.
a) Find the magnitude of the impulse exerted by the spring on thecart.
I got 1.41 N*m which was wrong and I'm stuck at a dead end.
b) Find the energy lost in this collision.
c) If the cart was in contact with the spring for 450 ms, find theaverage force exerted by the spring on the cart.
