When varsol and iodine in potassium iodide aqueous solution ismixed, two phases form.
when each of the following are also added to the test tubecontaining 2 ml of I2/KI and 2 ml varsol and why:

a) 4 ml varsol

b) 4 ml water

c) 2 drops saturated iodine in KI solution

d) 2 drops saturated sodium thiosulphate

e) 2 drops saturated sodium potassium iodide solution

In the class we have to figure out what an unknown substance is based on the experimental boiling point, the experimental refractive index and these graphs with a formula on them.

What i need is

empirical formula,

molecular formula, name of the compound,

the structure,

the NMR values

and the IR values.

The links below are as follows. Link 1 is to the format of what i need, this is only an example not my actual molecule that i need the information for. Link 2 is to the first graph given to me. Link 3 is to the third graph given to me. And below i will put the experimental boiling point and experimental refractive index obtained. The boiling point may be off from the literature value for the compound by a few degrees that is ok. The refracive index should be very close to the experimental refractive index however. Also in the pictures you will notice C3H8O is given, this is what was given NOT C3H8OH the H is simply there for labeling what substance it is and has nothing to do with these. If any questions comment them below. Thank you.
