Figure 1: Window without curtain Figure 2: Window with curtain - 12 ft Let x represent the base length of the exposed portion of the window, and let y represent the height of the exposed portion of the window. (a) Label x and y on Figure 2 above. (b) Suppose that the curtain is opening at a rate of 4 ft/s. At what rate is the area A of the exposed portion of the window changing when the area of the exposed portion is 9 ft?? Include appropriate units. Show your work.
