They want to make sure that their interests are being served, and they rely on the company's financial statements to monitor the state of the company.You will be looking at the company financial health from different angles.

Select a company that has been public for at least three years (Kohl's Corporation). Take a look at its financial statements. What do you notice? Do the assets match the liabilities and equity?
