It's a simple double replacement reaction, that we did inalab. Combining copper(II) oxide, and hydrocloric acid, in ourlab,yielded water and copper chloride. However, when you write outtheequation, it goes like this:
CuO (aq) + 2 HCl (aq) -->HOH(aq) + CuCl2 (aq)
This can't be possible, because in a doublereplacementreaction, you have to have some type of percipitate inyourequation. Am I just making a horendous oversight, or did Ireallynot yield what I thought I did?
