In my Org Chem Lab, I was given an unknown. I isolated the solid part and did an IR on it. I know this much that it is an amide. I have tried to identify some absorptions but not sure if I am right. I think it is an unsubstituted benzamide but then I also think it might be mono substituted. I had a green flame on my Balstein flame test indicating a halide. Melting point range is 160.2 to 163.5 degrees Celsius.
Based on the info I have given, can you help me identify this unknown? I understand it might not be conclusive but anything would be appreciated.
