ECO 340 Lecture Notes - Lecture 1: Absolute Advantage, Comparative Advantage, Opportunity Cost
Document Summary
You are most welcome to critique the article and analyze portions you do not agree with. From my own perspective, when learning about globalization throughout my academic history, i have typically observed a positive tint to all of it. I normally have only heard about how globalization has increased global perspective, productivity, and efficiency, opened nations" eyes to new ways of life, and created new trading partners and industry developments. However, this article gave some honest and legitimate reasons as to why globalization was once a revolutionary concept but is now losing its direction and causing some new problems to arise in the midst of foreign interactions. These problems include, but are not limited to, the undermining of democracy, and globalization being the absolute goal rather than increased productivity. This is mainly a problem with being too focused on power and having influence over more nations rather than focusing on internal issues.
