MGT 393 Lecture Notes - Lecture 2: Process Flow Diagram
Document Summary
On average 50 customers arrive to the department of motor vehicles (dmv) every hour. As soon as customers arrive, they wait in the line for the initial review process of their documents. After the waiting, an officer reviews documents; and if there are not any missing documents then the customer gets a service number. This initial review process takes average of 3 minutes. About 70 percent of the customers get a number and continue to the next process; the rest leave the dmv. Customers who get a number either go to the license or title process. 30 percent of the customers, who have numbers, go to the license process, while the rest of them go to the title process. For the license process, an average of 30 customers wait, while for title about 20 customers wait to see an officer. License process takes about 10 minutes, while the title is about 5 minutes.
