AN 3505 Lecture Notes - Medical Anthropology, Norm (Social), Kaltura
Document Summary
My behavior change was to increase my physical activity by doing yoga. Over the four weeks i noticed specific trends that prevented me from completing my behavioral change. For example, i did not do more than an hour of yoga a day, and for most days the least amount of time. Medical anthropology seeks to understand how ideas about health, illness and the body are products of particular social and cultural contexts (tilghman, 2020). I have explored this topic during my behavioral change. Cultural factors both helped and inhibited me from completing my behavioral change. Yoga is common type of workout in american culture; therefore, this made it easier to accomplish. This also influenced my decision to pick yoga as a behavior change. Although a factor that inhibited me from completing my behavioral change was an american norm. Specifically, the stress of getting my household chores completed and homework done.
