In this module, you will work on and discuss the revision process. In our everyday lives, we are constantly looking back and reviewing the choices we have made. When writing essays, it is essential that we revisit our work in order to clarify our ideas and strengthen our arguments. Revision means to "see again" or to look at your paper from a fresh perspective and with a critical eye. By reviewing and revising your work, you can ensure that your final product is clear and free of unwanted errors. When finalizing your essay, you will look at both large-scale revisions and small-scale revisions. Large-scale revisions are those revisions that concern the organization of your ideas and the filling in of evidence and details to support your points. Since you will be adding, removing, moving, and changing sentences to better emphasize your overall meaning, you do not yet need to get bogged down into the details of sentence structure or punctuation.

Remember to write in standard formal English and use the third person (no personal opinions) and the present tense.

Complete a plan for your essay.

Begin drafting your paper, using your plan as a guide.

Review and revise your first draft. You should try to have another person read your work and give you feedback as part of your revision process.

Write the fral draft of your project. Be sure to follow these requirements and recommendations when completing your draft.

* Use appropriate transitions to help your readers

* Having correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar is important. Take time to read your essay through carefully, correcting any mistakes.

* Supporting paragraph #1 - Putting in place a global plan to control space debris may seem unnecessary to some since the chance of impact is very small, according to the Johnson Space Center, which gave an only 1 in 10,000 risk to humans. [Reference] However, these statistics don't reflect the increase in space debris each year nor the increasing number of maneuvers necessary to protect manned spacecraft like the International Space Station from debilitating and, thereby, possibly life-threatening collisions with space junk. This is borne out by NASA scientist Nicholas Johnson, who confirmed that ... [Give details and references.]

* Conclusion - Although the chance of humans being hit or satellites being damaged by space debris is small at this time and the cost of eliminating and preventing debris would be substantial, the space debris problem is only going to grow. Space debris will become a material threat at some point in the not-too-distant future. We need to put in place a global plan to manage our space debris - both the existing and the potential. Or we could ignore the warnings like Chicken Little's friends and just "let the sky fall."
