: Castanon-Pandemic Pandemonium
Document Summary
Memory and information processing affected by isolation https://neurosciencenews. com/isolation-cognition-19108: the article discusses the effects isolation has on cognitive abilities and memory through the pandemic known as the groundhog effect . In this study, we saw how a large portion of people (30%) noticed changes within their memory and information after being isolated and the possible solutions and reasons for this. This study found that it was shared with participants to have issues with memory since the brain found it difficult to differentiate memories and retrieve them. The brain needs background information to help us recover these memories. Prior to being isolated memories would be identified by different situations that had occurred in our day since we would be out at different times of the day with people as well. However, this is very difficult to do when you are isolated and locked in so all of your memories are mixed since background information often remains the same.
