Colonialism in Africa lasted for a period of about eighty years. It began with the mad "Scramble for Africa" at the Berlin Conference in 1884. Major leaders of different European nations came together and agreed to the partition of the entire African continent.
 
Here are two views on colonization in Africa. Review each, summarize each side and state your opinion: Did colonization bring more advantages to the countries that were colonized?

  • The African continent was undeveloped, Europeans brought in opportunities for industrialization and employment
