The main objective of the sport is to finish the race as quick as possible. Sprint races tend to be from 200m to 1000m whereas endurance-based events can range up to 50 kilometers (1). Track cycling is a demanding sport requiring cyclists to have key physical and physiological requirements which are relevant to the specific demands of their events (1).
