Meta analyses avoids the issue of replicability. Theory=explanation/model that fits many observations and makes accurate predictions. Evaluating scientific theories: burden of proof, parsimony. Falsifiable=stated in such clear, precise terms that we can see what evidence would count against it. Ex 2: frankie (dog) is the reincarnated spirit of an ancient queen. However the point of research is not always to falsify a theory!
