Crime control marked patrol vehicles randomly patrolling w/in designated area. Officers responding to calls in automobiles mobility. Reactive intervention, one size fits all approach. Observe what is going on in community, prevent criminal activity. First to arrive & deal w/ incident. Believe they will catch perpetrators at scene of offence. Assume more arrests = fewer criminals on street.
