Document Summary

Philia = greek for love or attraction + sophos = greek for wisdom. We will be studying the ancient greek philosophy which started around 800 b. c and it eventually grew into what it is today. More specifically we will be studying the philosophy that relates to the health care field. In philosophy, the two main focus are the person acting or the consequence of the action. However, the two main branches of philosophy are logic and if it is good or bad. Logic is the idea that things are consistent and plausible. Ethics is the idea of values and morals or formally known as the study of morality . Morality is the study of human values, goods and evils and such. Ethos means character, moralis means custom, so the main focus is basically the type of person acting or the consequences of the action. One must act in the way that will create the best outcome.
