Document Summary

The telling of the tale is what is to be appreciated. The summary comes first, then the entirety of the tale. Questions asked to the audience by the narrator. A moral lesson is given at the end. Is an english version; english ones tend to be the longest. In this version, the timeline is more extended; the story takes place over months whereas in shakespeare"s version it is very fast-paced; takes only days. From brooke"s romeus and juliet- the passage in our booklet. No direct nor indirect speech, though there is much elsewhere in the story. Light as a symbol of good, god, purity. Aurora is the goddess of dawn, phoebus is the sun, and lucifer is the morning star. There is an inversion of day and night. Romeus thinks of day as holding the terrors and loneliness of night, and night for him is where he finds love and happiness.
