TMGT 4304 Chapter Notes -Reinforcement
Document Summary
Although the applicational concept of positive reinforcement applies to both domestic and international managers, the results show that there are some significant variables in employee responsiveness, for example competitiveness, money habits, and savings. These are also predictors of growth but not of wealth. And out of these, competitiveness has shown to be the most powerful stimulant for employee motivation, although after economic well-being is reached, the competitive factor has less of an effect on employees. After this point, co-operativeness becomes a key factor in worker attitude. It was previously believed that employee motivation was directly associated with incentive pay, but this study shows that the incentive of job-stability increased morale and sales further. Managers hoping to increase morale, efficiency and output should consider using positive reinforcement. This applies to both domestic and international markets.
