Document Summary

Bystander apathy - standing around and letting something happen where there at least some groups that indicate you should intervene. Question of if it should be legal. Bystanders admit guilt for not having interviended. Identity with a group causes you to favor your ingroup and have a strong dislike to the outgroup regardless of what you share. Robbers cave (i think that"s what he said) cherie et al. Children invited to a camp at this location. Two groups had mild competitions (athletics, crafts, etc) Imposing the competitive atmosphere caused dislike between groups, started to prank each other and try to harm the other. Being assigned to groups with strong competition for resources has this outcome. Second finding - introduced cooperative activities where two groups would have to work together for common reward. Alleviated competition a little, btu not completely. Easy to get groups to hate each other but much harder to get rid of it.
