Course outline math 139, calculus i with precalculus. Textbook: stewart, single variable calculus (early transcendentals edition), eight edition. Older versions will also be fine, but any page numbers and exercises mentioned in class will be with respect to the 8th edition. There is also a student solution manual that one can buy. Restriction: not open to students who have taken cegep objective 00un or equivalent. Not open to students who have taken or are taking math 122, except by permission of the department of. Syllabus: review of trigonometry and other precalculus topics. Course schedule: mondays 1:30-2:30 in mcmed 522, mondays and wednesdays 4:00-5:30 in. Office hours: mondays 2:45-3:45 in burn 1243 and wednesdays 14:30-15:30 in burn 1120. Assessment: the assessment for the course consists of four parts: final exam (65%): 3 hours exam. No calculators or formula sheets are allowed: webwork (15%): assignments given during the course of the term on the internet-based.
