Document Summary

Nafta will be renegotiated, talk about dairy, auto manufacturing, softwood lumber, dispute settlement mechanism. Wants 50% of components to be from us (50% out of the 85% of all of north america) Us lost a lot of jobs due to outsourcing (mexico, japan, other car manufacturing countries) so they are trying to bring back lost jobs. Us wanted minimum wage to be across north america and specifically mexico. Bring the 85% down to 60-70 because cutting off other manufacturers can make many countries angry (north american 85%???) Us stands is a bit isolationist from the world, 50% of the 85% from the us specifically. From the canadian perspective, this wage is somewhat low. Unreasonable to make a set wage without considering economy (16$ here is more than 16$ in toronto) 3 reasons which each were called fault lines. Fault line = something to do with tectonic plates. Fault line = spark of a snowball effect issue.
