Document Summary

Program analysis involves focusing on specific aspects of a program to determine the utility of that program in meeting its stated objectives. Program analysis occurs in organizations as a routine method of ensuring that programming continues to respond to the needs of participants, the wider community and continues to reflect the mandate of the organization. Program analysis ensures that the issues relevant to a given community (i. e. , poverty, disability) are incorporated into program planning. The program analysis may determine if aspects of the existing programming are reflective of the mandate, meet the needs of the participants, meet the program s goals/objectives, meet funding targets, and are within budget etc. This topic is covered in more detail cvfs 404, program planning and evaluation. Program analysis may take the form of in-depth questioning, interviews with key stakeholders, and review of program documentation and/or participant records. Program analysis is purposeful and driven by a set of pre-determined criteria.
