The case of tracy latimer is extremely controversial and has been an ongoing and ever-present case in the debate over legalization of euthanasia in canada. The current debate over euthanasia is filled with different moral views and ethical points filled on both sides. Having this debate brings along other ideas such as the value of human life, autonomy, dignity, control, the role of medicine and so much more. Robert latimer believed his actions were merciful and that the only way to end his daughter suffering was through a form non-voluntary active of euthanasia, but were his actions morally permissible or even morally justified. Tracey latimer, daughter or robert latimer was born with a severe case of cerebral palsy. Tracy was a quadriplegic and was not able to swallow food without assistance from another person.
