Atlantic ocean and a safe landing at le bourget airport, just outside paris. He flew over cape cod then nova scotia and reached newfoundland by 7:15 in the evening. By 11:00 that night, he was over the north atlantic and had already travelled 1,500 miles and he was about half way to his destination. By then, he had been awake for 39 hours and he was exhausted. He occasionally slap himself in the face to keep himself from falling asleep. By 11:00 in the next morning, after 16 hours over the atlantic, lindbergh was flying over. Ireland and had about 600 miles to go. By 5:30pm, lindbergh is over france and he finally bite into the sandwich he had packed for himself.
