Document Summary

When we rub two insulators, due to friction, heat energy will be produced. Surface electrons gain that heat energy and their kinetic energy will be increased. Electron will move from one object to another. The object in which there is little weaker bonding between electron and proton than the other object, will loose electros and the object in which there is stronger bonding will gain electrons. The object which will gain electrons, will have surplus of electrons and will be negatively charged and the object which will lose electrons , will have deficiency of electrons and will be positively charged. Rubbing(friction) produces two different types of charges on two different materials. Rubbing is the suitable procedure for charging insulators and induction is the suitable procedure for charging conductors. In metals atoms have loose electrons in the outer shells which form a sea of delocalized or free negative charges around the close-packed positive ions.
