Usually through contaiminated food or wateir or person to person contact (fecal- oral: salmonella, gastroentereitis: salmonellosis pretty7 much same symptoms as shigellosis escept more likely to cause vomiting too. Ii. can become systemic and cause typhoid fever or typhoid. Salmonella become systemic and goes into blood causing bacteremia and spreads to rest of body. Fever, abdominal pain, joint pain, back pain, confusion, delirium. Causes many deaths in developing world: affinity to poultry, non-eneterobacter, campylobacter, campylobacterjejuni- most causes of nen- enterobacteriaceae gastroenteritis. Diarrhea, cramps etc: conatiminated food/ water, helicobacter pylori common inhabitant of stomach for most people. Can cause gastritis in humans (maybe a little enteritis too). Water, food, conatiminated person: enterotoxin toxin causes all problems not bacteria itself, causes severe diarrhea, tinted with mucous.
