Have problems with speech production: no problem understanding language, just speaking. ~75% people (regardless left or right handed) receive language info in left hemisphere. People with corpus callosum cut don"t visibly act differently. If normal brain, left stimuli goes to right hemisphere. Won"t be able to name object because language in left not right hemisphere. 2 diff messages to left and right ears, patient will report what"s heard on. 2 diff songs to left and right, report song heard on left. Left hemisphere generally associated with logical, linear thinking. Right generally used for holistic thinking (instead of splitting ideas into smaller elements) Women generally more bi-lateralized (left and right more even)
