Document Summary

Thin dental enamel (teeth not very strong) Asymmetrical distribution of cortical bone in femoral neck (bipedal) Canine slightly smaller, less projecting than apes. Possibly a direct ancestor of later hominins. Valgus knee joint, human like pelvis, adducted hallux. Long, curved finger and toe bones (less efficient bipedalism and/or areboral behavior) Large molars & premolars, thick dental enamel, large jaws. Large body size dimorphism, but small canine dimorphism and small canines overall (indicative of monogamy, or competition is replacing the way of fighting) Brain size small, but larger than any waps. Large jaws, molars, premolars, and chewing muscles. Small brain, but larger than apes (500cc) Sagittal crest, inflated zygomatics = massive chewing muscles. Massive premolar & molar teeth, very thick enamel. Smaller molars and premolars compared to australopiths, but still large. Brain larger than h. erectus, overlapping w/ modern humans (1150-1250cc) Another small bodied descendant of homo erectus. Possible evidence of complex behavior regarding intentional disposal of the dead.
